I had the wonderful opportunity to cross paths with a wonderful person named Joy Schmidtt Meyer. She purchased a Hope bracelet one day and was touched by Bowen's story of why we sell the bracelets. She is involved with helping run the Matthew's Crossing Food Bank in Chandler, AZ. She wears her Hope bracelet all the time. Her mission and vision is to spread hope to those who are experiencing food insecurities. She has a heart to help feed the hungry and goes above and beyond to do it. After wearing her bracelet, she wanted to help spread hope at Matthew's Crossing as well. They now sell Hope Happens Bracelets to help benefit those in need of food. The bracelets are made by mudlove pottery. One bracelet can not only help provide 4 food boxes for a family that struggles with hunger but one week of clean water for a person in Africa as well. There are so many ways to help those in your community. Whether it is buying a bracelet, going to the night to fight hunger gala, or buying raffle tickets for their golf raffle there is a way to help.
I was asked by Judith Couchman is I would be willing to donate Hope or Be Kind Bracelets for a mission trip she was going to in Poland. She had the opportunity to go teach Polish students the Bible. Judith needed gifts to give them and she thought the bracelets would make a perfect gift. She was right. She was able to teach the students about how God gives us hope, about his kindness and how he is able to do immeasurable more than we can think of or imagine. The students were able to have a tangible reminder of what they learned. She was able to share the story of our son Bowen's and why we sell the bracelets. I am just so inspired how Hope knows no borders. It can be given anywhere at anytime. So what do Poland Students and a Food Bank have in common? Hope. It is something we all could use, and something we all need.
I hope you that your day is filled with hope wherever you go.......... Don't ever miss a chance to give it you never know who may need it!
