Welcome to the Bowen’s Hope blog! It’s an integral part of our expanded and redesigned website. We hope you like it! With this online renovation, we want to present a clear, concise ministry vision, along with educational, encouraging, and motivational information. Through our blog, we’ll offer hope and inspire you to make a difference in the world, despite your life losses.
We’ll post once a week, about a variety of related topics. For example, managing grief from the loss of a child; helping kidney disease kids and their families at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital; encouraging kidney patients in your area; managing daily life with a chronic illness; finding healing and renewal after loss; and more. We’ll also post excerpts from my new book, Waiting for Heaven, about the loss of our son, Bowen, to polycystic kidney disease. For each blog entry, you can respond with comments. We want to learn from and about you, too.
Life can be messy, especially dealing with chronic illness and loss. Still, Scripture says there is a season and a time for everything. Despite loss and grief, we can heal and enjoy celebratory moments.
This year marks a turning point in my family’s journey after the passing of our infant son, Bowen. With the release of Waiting for Heaven, it’s time to celebrate a new chapter, a new beginning. Our story doesn’t end with our loss, but rather, it’s just begun. Inspired by our son and told from a mother’s heart, this story keeps growing. God continues to write on our hearts, and we pray our journey will help others who hurt, bringing them closer to Him.
We celebrate our son for who he was: a gift of life. Despite unimaginable loss, it’s important to remember you can eventually celebrate life. With Bowen’s Hope, we want to honor your child’s life, but also your life after loss. Above all, Bowen’s Hope points to personal and spiritual healing.
