Beautiful Plane Rides

This is a picture my daughter drew when she was 5 years old.  I love how through a child's eyes, even in the storms they can see a rainbow with not one but two suns shining!  One thing my son Bowen has definitely taught me is that there is a rainbow after every storm.

Sometimes even amidst tragedy and heartbreak, God has a way of turning the most horrific things into something beautiful.  He has a way showing up in the most unexpected places.  One of those places for me has been on airplanes.  One woman named Leslie who is in my book "Waiting for Heaven" is one of those people who God put in my life at a much needed time.

At the beginning of the flight we were strangers, but by the end we were long lost friends.  Her story is one of the most amazing stories of pain and heartache one could ever imagine.  She gives pain a whole new meaning.  What she endured and persevered through no human should ever have to do.  I am sure glad that God is in the hope making business.  Because despite her tragedy, she shared her story with me to give me hope and God used her in an amazing way in my life when I needed it the most.  She was a rainbow in my cloud that day.

On our most recent plane ride God connected us again with another woman who happens to work with women who experience perinatal loss.  What are the chances of our paths crossing?  You never know who you will meet on an airplane.

Have you ever experienced a storm that you thought would never end?  Did you ever think that something as beautiful as a rainbow could be a result of that storm?

When you are going through the never ending storms in life.  Remember every storm eventually comes to an end;  there is always an ever lasting supply of God's grace, it  never run's dry.

If you are going though struggle,  a storm that is never ending, I'm praying that today is the day that you will see a rainbow.  God's will, will never take you where God's grace cannot protect you.

God's rainbow, a symbol of hope. We've had quite a bit of rain in my town and so I've seen some double rainbows lately. Thanks for reminding me of their meaning while passing through a challenging time in my own life. I think we all need a rainbow reminder for the tough spots in our lives. Thanks!
