I think there can be so much to be learned from nature. That even despite devastation beautiful things can grow. Grief can be heavy and a hard road to travel. It may be difficult to see how anything positive or beautiful can grow from tragedy.
I am always inspired when I hear stories of how others have turned their tragedy into something positive. If Ray Charles had never played the piano we may have never experienced one of the best performers ever. If Abraham Lincoln never had been through all of his life's tragedies (losing his mother, wife, 3 out of 4 children) we may have never had a day of Thanksgiving. Just because tragedy strikes it doesn't mean it is the end. Ray Charles and Abraham Lincoln were not going to let blindness or tragedy get in their way of accomplishing something great. They are just two examples of when pain is poured into something positive how something beautiful can grow from it.
The first step into turning grief into something meaningful and positive is having a willing heart to start the process. The next step is just taking that first step. It doesn't have to be a big step or even a leap, just one little baby step is all a person needs. The third step is DO SOMETHING, that speaks to your heart, and pour your pain into that passion. Everyone's passion is different, it could be start a non-profit organization in honor of your loved one or run a marathon. Whatever it is Just Do it! The fourth step is to repeat steps two and three over and over and then watch how something beautiful will grow from your pain.
Here are 5 ways to not only honor a loved one, but put pain into a positive purpose:
1. Do a walk or run in honor of them
2. Fundraise in honor of their cause
3. Do Acts of Kindness in honor of them
4. Volunteer or serve at a homeless shelter or organization that could use your help or
5. Do Something that speaks to your heart
It may not be easy to start the process, but can guarantee that when a person is moving forward in the right direction towards a positive purpose, it will start to become a beautiful thing! Only beautiful things can grow from something positive and good. It is possible for grief to be transformed into a positive purpose! Do not let devastation and tragedy devastate you, get up and grow something beautiful!
